Post-Foresight 2024 Hong Kong Meetup Marks First Stop on Avail’s Strategic Asia Tour to Foster Regional Partnerships
Hong Kong – Aug 17, 2024 –Avail, the unification layer aimed at solving rollup fragmentation at scale, hosted its inaugural Hong Kong meetup on August 13. The event, which followed the Foresight 2024 conference, marked a significant milestone in Avail’s strategic expansion into the broader APAC region.
The Foresight 2024 conference, with its theme “East to West,” set the stage for Avail’s meetup by bringing together over 500 entrepreneurs, investors, and thought leaders from across the global blockchain ecosystem. This synergy provided Avail with an ideal platform to showcase its technology and vision to a diverse, international audience.
Avail’s Hong Kong meetup, a cornerstone of their Asia tour, was designed to foster deep connections with the local Web3 community. The event demystifies Avail’s cutting-edge technology, cultivate mindshare, and onboard developers and ecosystem projects in these critical Asian markets.
Anurag Arjun, co-founder of Avail, kicked off the event with a compelling keynote. He shared his seven-year journey in the crypto space, from co-founding Polygon to incubating Avail within Polygon in late 2020, and finally spinning it out as an independent entity.
Delving into Avail’s architecture, Arjun introduced key components such as Avail DA and Avail Nexus. He then unveiled Avail’s roadmap, highlighting the successful launch of their DA mainnet, forthcoming major announcements planned for Token 2049, and the strategic importance of Avail Nexus in connecting diverse rollups.
The event featured a high-profile panel discussion on “Development Trends of Web3 Infrastructure” with industry luminaries Forest Bai, Founder of Foresight Ventures, Gokhan Er, Managing Director of IOSG Ventures, and Max, Head of Ecosystem at Metalpha. Forest Bai emphasized the delicate balance projects must strike between adhering to their vision and meeting user demands, a sentiment that resonated strongly with the audience.
Cecilia Hsueh, Co-founder & CEO of Morph, delivered an insightful keynote on “How can applications promote mass adoption?” Her talk explored practical strategies for bridging the gap between Web3 innovations and mainstream users.
The event concluded with a dynamic panel featuring Kevin from Bitlayer, Alex from Blade Games, Christine Lee from Tanssi Network, Ian from openBuild, and Kiwi from PKUBA, who provided a comprehensive overview of the current state and future potential of Web3 applications across various sectors.
Earlier at Foresight 2024, Anurag Arjun participated in a high-level panel discussion on the rise of modular crypto lego narratives. Alongside other industry leaders, he explored how this trend is reshaping the blockchain landscape and enabling new possibilities for scalability and interoperability.
Reflecting on the events, Arjun expressed his enthusiasm for his Hong Kong experience and the support received: “The energy and enthusiasm we’ve encountered in Hong Kong have been truly remarkable. The support we’ve received, particularly from Foresight Ventures, has been instrumental in making our event a success.”
Forest Bai, Foresight Venture’s Founder also commented, “Anurag has a keen grasp of both tech and business, which is invaluable when it comes to community building and fostering consensus. People are drawn to ecosystems based on trust, admiration, and shared benefits — These are areas where the Avail team really shines.”
As Avail continues its Asia tour, the Hong Kong meetup serves as a powerful testament to the project’s global ambitions and its recognition of APAC as a key driver of blockchain innovation. With the support of key conferences like Foresight 2024, Avail is well-positioned to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Web3 infrastructure across Asia and beyond.

About Avail
Avail is led by co-founder Anurag Arjun and is building a unification layer to solve rollup fragmentation at scale. Avail addresses this from first principles solving blockchain scalability with Avail DA, a foundational DA layer that implements the same technology planned for Ethereum’s danksharding roadmap, including KZG Commitments and Data Availability Sampling (DAS). Avail Nexus addresses growing fragmentation concerns with permissionless interoperability, leveraging proof aggregation on Avail’s scalable DA layer. Avail’s security is then reinforced with multi-asset staking through Avail Fusion. Avail has raised over $75 million since 2023 with support from Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund, Dragonfly Capital, HTX Ventures, and angel investors like Balaji Srinivasan, Tim Beiko, and Sunny Aggarwal.
About Anurag
Anurag Arjun is the co-founder of Avail and former Co-Founder of Polygon. In 2020, Arjun, launched Avail within the Polygon ecosystem and by March 2023, he led Avail’s development to break from Polygon to focus on developing a more modular and scalable blockchain stack for the web3 community.
