HashKey Capital CEO, Deng Chao, shared the firm’s investment strategies at the “Trends for Web3: Perspectives from Top Investors” roundtable forum during the “FORESIGHT 2023” annual summit, co-hosted by Foresight Ventures and Foresight News.
Deng Chao revealed that during previous cycles, HashKey Capital adopted a bottom-up investment strategy and a top-down research approach. The firm divided the industry into four categories: underlying layer, infrastructure layer, application layer, and crypto finance, and then identified the best projects within these sectors.
Regarding the completion of the $500 million fundraising for HashKey Capital’s third fund, Deng Chao explained that as the industry develops and its fund size continues to grow, it will provide funding to early-stage projects and seek early-stage opportunities. He emphasized that collaborating with other funds is necessary to share resources worth hundreds of millions of dollars.
