According to Hong Kong Economic Journal, Bojan Obradovic, HSBC’s Hong Kong Director of Digitalization, stating that HSBC plans to use Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Campus as a Pilot to simulate digital Hong Kong Dollar Payment Ecosystem and validate multiple theoretical assumptions.
In addition, HSBC will invite over a hundred participants to experience real-time transactions, verifying the social and economic benefits of digital Hong Kong dollars. The potential benefits to be proven include reducing fraud, improving reward mechanisms, and enhancing the efficiency of payment tracks.
