Shardeum Hires Previous CoinFund CMO Kelsey McGuire As Chief Growth Officer

Shardeum, an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-based Layer 1 blockchain which uses dynamic state sharding to achieve linear scalability, announced that Kelsey McGuire has been appointed as Chief Growth Officer. Having previously served as CMO at CoinFund, and worked in marketing leadership roles at ConsenSys, she is poised to drive Shardeum’s growth and significantly impact the Web3 ecosystem. She will be responsible for growing Shardeum’s presence in new geographies and refining the internal processes and strategy.

Shardeum launched its betanet “Sphinx” in February 2023, allowing the community to run validator nodes on the network. The network has possibly become the most decentralized testnet in Web3, with over 25,000 validators. Most importantly, the community runs 99% of the validator nodes. Most recently, Shardeum also launched its code release by open-sourcing validator-related repositories. In October 2022, Shardeum completed a $18.2M seed round of financing, jointly led by Jane Street, Struck Crypto, Spartan Group, Big Brain Holdings, DFG, Ghaf Capital Partners, and Foresight Ventures.
