FBI Confirms Lazarus Group and APT38 Responsible for Harmony’s Horizon Bridge $100M Currency Theft

North Korean hacker groups Lazarus Group and APT38 have been identified as Horizon Bridge attackers, according to a statement released by the FBI. The hacker group used malware called “TraderTraitor” to attack and laundered more than $60M in stolen Ethereum through a privacy protocol called Railgun, some of which were sent to other service providers and traded for Bitcoin; part of the Bitcoins have been frozen while the rest were transferred to 11 addresses.
